Dr. Ismail Barakat

Ismail holds a bachelor’s degree in Telecommunication Engineering from the University of Aleppo and a master’s degree in Advanced Optical Technologies from FAU, with a focus on the physics of light. In 2025, he earned his Ph.D. in Experimental Physics, in the field of quantum optics, also from FAU. Previously, from 2012-2015, he worked as a TV broadcast systems engineer at FGC in Saudi Arabia, where he contributed to the design of media systems. After completing his Ph.D., from 2024 to 2025, he developed a strong interest in creative academic projects and worked as a media advisor and audiovisual content creator at the Chair of Science, Technology, and Gender Studies. He is now looking forward to contributing to creative endeavours at DHSS as their Media & Research Communication Producer.
