Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 2024!

The DHSS wishes all students and colleagues a nice and relaxing Christmas break and a good start to 2024!

The year 2023 included many highlights for the department at FAU:

  • In April, we participated in the Girls’ Day and created digital maps with all participants showing their favorite places.
  • In July, Dominik Kremer and Sabine Lang presented their research at the Researchers’ Day.
  • Our lecture series started in the summer semester with contributions from Junior Professor Dr. Mareike Schumacher and Dr. Franziska Ehrl; the series will continue in the winter semester.
  • In the summer semester, the Hackerspace for all DHSS students started as well.
  • In October, the DHSS participated in the Long Night of Sciences and hosted various events in the Orangerie in the palace gardens, including lectures and stands with project presentations.
  • In November, we welcomed Dr. Michelle Pfeifer from Dresden, who gave a talk as part of our ongoing DHSS lecture series.
  • Further lectures by Prof. Dr. Sabine Timpf and Dr. Jacqueline Klusik-Eckert will follow in December.
  • In December, the Hackerspace will be accompanied by workshops and lectures on professional practice.

We are looking forward to the next year, which will certainly have more highlights in store!

All the best,

the DHSS
