“Our Future, Our Water, Our Stories” is an international writing competition inviting young people aged 9 to 17 to creatively explore the role of water in shaping our collective future. Developed as part of ongoing research at FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg in collaboration with the University of Birmingham, the project addresses pressing global challenges related to climate change and water sustainability. By encouraging participants to imagine future water scenarios through storytelling, the initiative combines creative expression with critical engagement, while also contributing to research on how environmental narratives are formed and communicated. The project is based at the Text and Language Lab (DHSS) and forms part of the doctoral research of Andreas Wagner, supervised by Prof. Mahlberg and supported by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation.
