This catalog was created as part of the seminar “Das KI-Experiment. Kunst von und mit der Maschine” which took place in the summer semester of 2025 at the Department of Digital Humanities and Social Studies at FAU Erlangen-Nuremberg. The title refers to the “AI Experiment” initiated and conducted by Prof. Dr. Bernhard Egger (FAU) together with Swiss artist and lawyer Hans Furer. The seminar focused on the intersection of AI and art based on the “AI Experiment” and included both a theoretical examination of the topic, practical work on the exhibition catalog, and visits to view the works on site. The experiment and the exhibition of the images raise the following questions: What role can AI play in art? How important is the role of the artist in this context? And what is the relationship between AI art and art created by humans?
The catalogue and texts were produced by Mariana Aravidou, Charlotte Klamt and Diana Trubarova.
