The Department of Digital Humanities and Social Studies (DHSS) aims to tackle one of the grand challenges of present-day humanity – making sense of the modern, digital world. Our research deals with the opportunities and challenges of the datafication and algorithmisation of society, culture and human knowledge, it develops models and techniques for studying these phenomena, and it takes a critical approach to the implications of the digital on human reality.
