We are pleased to announce that Prof. Mila Oiva has started as Professor of Digital Images and Objects in our department. She is a leading expert in the computational analysis of audiovisual heritage data and has published influential research based on Soviet newsreel materials.
Mila holds a PhD in Cultural History and has collaborated on a wide range of digital humanities projects across several countries. She brings extensive experience in the computational analysis of culture and in studying the role of digitality in contemporary society. In her research, she combines a deep humanities perspective with the latest technological innovations.
