Prof. Dr. Sibylle Kunz’s dissertation is now published by Nomos:

“Focusing on reader benefit, digital reading media offer a rich set of features compared to print products, such as search, bookmark and annotation management, social reading, etc. Nevertheless, many digital text offerings violate well-tested usability guidelines, which makes their reception difficult and makes readers prefer to reach for the printed version. This dissertation designs a reference model for publishers that can be used to specifically plan, design, and test usability, and demonstrates its empirical implementation using a mix of methods in a comparative study of real-world trade magazine apps.”
